Read MoreIt's been a while since I last posted, but I'm back. And guess what? I'm seventy-three per cent of the way. In other words: a staggering €16.134,64 has been raised! Thank you so much! I'm starting to see that ship in the distance.
And there's more exciting news: in just under two weeks the first selection weekend starts! What we'll be doing is a secret; all I know is that it's mostly outside. They'll be observing us students, looking at how we are as individuals and as a group. We're a big bunch of teenagers (some of whom I've met before at the fundraising training) so I'm sure it's going to be lots of fun. We'll see, won't we? I'll keep you all updated!
See ya,
India
Each year, on April 27th, The Netherlands goes orange. It's Koningsdag (or King's Day, formerly Koninginnedag or Queen's Day on the 30th) and we celebrate that guy's birthday. Some go to parties and festivals - especially the night before, King's Night - whilst others sell their stuff on the streets. You see, the whole country becomes one huge flea market. For many years I've sold my old toys, clothing and books in the Vondelpark, so of course I couldn't let a year pass, even though the weather wasn't looking good. At all. I asked friends and family for their unused stuff so they could sponsor me one way or another - thank you guys!

You can now also transfer your sponsorship with PayPal! Hopefully this makes things easier for some of you guys :-)

Guess what?
Forty-nine per cent of the money has been raised! That's a total of €10,825.81 ! Isn't it great? I just can't stop smiling :)
All by emptying these people's wallets (kind of doing them a favor, right? Less to carry around all day ;) ) : my uncle Johnny, aunt Joanna, cousin Laura, my dad, Marius, Helga, Sam, Peter, Mario, Andres & Catie, Berit, May, Edward & Rosalien (and my own savings). A big thank-you from the bottom of my heart!
Now it's time to go to companies (any ideas, know an owner? Please contact me) and give my own little web shop a makeover. I'm also selling stuff on Marktplaats here ; if you have any (old) things or clothes that you don't use anymore or want to get rid of please consider donating them to my expedition :) You can sponsor me for free using sponsorkliks, I'd really appreciate if you check if your web store is on there every time you shop online.
Not very much else to say, except that I'm really happy!
Thanks again,
India
It took some hard work, but now it's finally there! Don't hesitate to share it with your friends & family; please spread the news.
This is the place I'll be posting blogs with updates on how things are going, news and all kinds of random stuff. When I'm sailing I'll tell you all about the expedition, and whatever I feel to tell.
It's a long, winding path ahead, with ups and downs, but I fully believe we'll make it!
Thank you all for your support,
Love,
India
Will you be the wind in my sails?
